Okay, my computer was legit in the shop. This is a true excuse and you can ask my mom.
NOW onto the sweater!
After sending out my last email to my Sweater September mailing list, I got a flood of responses. And not a single one of them said ‘oh yeah, almost there and no mistakes!’
We have all had to frog or rework our patterns. It hurts us, precious. It hurts ALL of us.
I’m absolutely no different. I finished the back of my sweater a while ago but took almost a day and a half to muddle through the directions and try to look up pictures of just the back online in size small. It looks so weird! Are the shoulders supposed to be triangles like that?

I finally decided just to move on and fix it later if I needed to. So I moved onto the front. I know I can do the front (at least the body) because I finished the back.
I’ve ripped out almost as much as I’ve knit. And since I’ve put aside time to knit EVERY DAY now so I can finish my project, this is understandably frustrating. Sometimes I read the pattern wrong – sometimes I’m not paying attention to what I’m doing. Either way, it’s driving me crazy.
So as of today, what could have been 3/4 of the front piece is less than 1/2. I want to cry a little bit.
However, I’m still going to knit EVERY DAY to see how much I can get done. I mean, technically speaking, I’ve knit more in the last month on this thing than I have in three years. I’m actually making real progress. So she’s going to get finished. I’m just…. less hopeful about completing it in September than I was before.
For all of my frogging peeps – I feel you. I feel you SO MUCH!
It’s okay if we’re losers. We’re going to be losers together.
